From the TKDWN TOP 50 (the sport's first 50 wrestler weight class ranking) to the TKDWN TOP 25 team rankings and every other ranking, we continue to strive to deliver the most trusted and transparent rankings in the sport.
The only individual weight class ranking from any media outlet that goes 1-50 wrestlers.
TKDWN Media separates all styles of wrestling for separate rankings.
The “in-season” TKDWN TOP 50 covers folkstyle results ONLY and looks back on a 3 month rolling basis.
The “off-season” TKDWN TOP 50 covers freestyle or Greco ONLY and looks back on a 3 month rolling basis.
For ranking purposes, I look at ALL results available to me through the various reference websites that track wrestler results. This includes scholastic or USAW sanctioned events as well as all-star events, travel events, club team events, et al.
There are thousands of wrestlers across the country at every weight class. Unlike other sports that have rankings as part of their season coverage, there are substantially more individual wrestlers than college football teams, basketball teams, etc.
This means that there is an opportunity to rank more than just the traditional 25 (or the 20 that Flowrestling uses). This gives more wrestlers some recognition and provides more information for fans to know where wrestlers outside the top 25 fit into the national mix without the vagueness of “honorable mention”.

The TKDWN TOP 25 is the “in-season” team ranking from TKDWN Media.
When it comes to teams, talent is so widely dispersed across the country but at the same time concentrated to a handful of teams, that it makes the most sense to stick to 25 teams with perhaps a handful of “first out” or “next in” as the season transpires. Once you get into the 40s and 50s, these teams have less and less elite talent and becomes much more difficult to analyze accurately.
Primarily by the strength of the line up. This means that as individual rankings adjust week to week in the TKDWN TOP 50, teams will be adjusted accordingly. Then we look at the results, event placements and duals, and weigh those against the perceived line up strength. I prioritize dual results over tournaments, but they all do play a role.

The TKDWN 250 is the amalgam of the TKDWN class rankings. It brings together the top 100 seniors, top 75 juniors, top 50 sophomores, and top 25 freshmen.
